Please, feel free to post whatever is on your mind, whether you think it sucks or that it will be good, your opinion will be appreciated. Okay, Here we go...Electrical first: Front batt - XS Power D6500 Back batt - Shuriken BT80 (i think that the official name for it) Alternator - DC Power Inc. 185 amp h/o alt (OEM fit for explorer) Power Wire - 2/0 Sky High OFC Sub Amp - Hifonics BRX 2400.D (final impendence of 1 ohm) Mid/Highs amp - Skar SK 85.4 Big 3 done in the 2/0 sky high Now for the drivers: 8 x 12" Hifonics HFX12D4 - 300W RMS each - Fs 30.33 Hz - Qts - 0.638 - Xmax - 6.5mm - Mms - 111 grams - 1.25 cu ft required for sealed box, 1.6 - 2 cu ft for ported. 4 x Alpine Type-R door speakers (2 in front, 2 in back.) Box design is coming from Ryan Miskin at RAM Audio. Its looking like it will be a 4th order bandpass with the ported side tuned to about 45 hz. (someone told me that if i had the port facing forward toward the windshield, i could seal around the box making a "wall") i have no idea how true this is, so i wanted to include it and get some insight on this. As of now, i believe that is everything...but im sure that i have left something out somewhere. if there is anything that i need to clear up, please let me know. Thanks to everyone in advance for taking the time to read this and help me out. I don't claim to know how to solve anything, I just practice the basics. There is nothing worse than wasting hours over a problem that should have taken 5 mins. Anything I post and claim to know, I know simply because of a lesson learned from a mistake on my part.

alaskanzx5 Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 I would look at a bigger alt for future upgrades. band pass 4th orders tend to take some testing to get the sealed and ported sides right. if you were to do a simple ported box you could easily cut the front/baffle of the wall out and make the box bigger or smaller to accommodate bigger better subs for upgrades. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
