rickman
don't know if this is the right place to discuss this. i drive a 2011 dodge journey that has the 8.4 screen and so i am planning on installing 2 aftermarket amplifiers. i bought a kicker zxsum8 and the manual to me was confusing. i understand so far that i need to tap wire from the output converter to the speaker wires and that channel 4 RCA is used for a sub amp but what RCA channel or channels do i use for a 4 channel amplifier? truthsayer
Not sure, hate to give you bad advice without looking at a manual. Why not just get a amp that excepts speaker level inputs, or some even give you a speaker to rca converter for your amp inputs. I think that would be cheaper than spending your money on the zxsum8. Look on amazon for the pioneer amps, they will work for what your needing. I'm sure there's many more just cant think of them off the top of my head. Look at pioneer gmd-9601 and gmd-8604. truthsayer
ChevyBoy95
You can use a splitter on the output of the LOC to achieve a 4 channel out put. That, or there might be a way, where if you tap the wires and attached them to channel 1, it might split it across all the outputs. Not sure though, might be a setting. ChevyBoy95
I downloaded the manual, there is an internal switch, you have the remove the cover, to make it a true LOC, rather than the SUM+LOC that it is set to stock which takes a tweeter input on chan 1, mid on chan 2, and sub on chan 4, and "SUM"s them to a balanced low level output. And there was something in the manual, that it splits the channel across the others if nothing is connected to the others. So channel 3 has an input but 4 doesnt, it will output channel 3 on chan 3's output and chan 4's output Best Score to Date : 160.5 dB Outlaw (47Hz)[4 XM 15's & 2 Taramps Bass 12k's] BL : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147800-chevyboy95s-4-15s-7krms-wall-1533-db-on-half-power/YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/hitemwiththeflex/
rickman
ok chevyboy so then i would use channel 1 and channel 2 to to put my 4 rca wires from my 4 channel amplifier? or use a y adapter and have it on channel 1?
ChevyBoy95
ok chevyboy so then i would use channel 1 and channel 2 to to put my 4 rca wires from my 4 channel amplifier? or use a y adapter and have it on channel 1? im not sure, you would have to test this in person, there is only so much i can speculate from a manual. I would try putting left side + and - into channel 1 left, and right side + and - into right side channel 1. Then see if you can get it to disperse across channels 2-4. With how the picture of the top looks, seem to be able to do 1 channel input, and make it output on all 4 sets of RCAs.
