AASMDBASS Posted March 16, 2014 Author Report Posted March 16, 2014 Is your volt meter calibrated? I would have to say so, as the Stinger volt meter, and my Pioneer 80prs both indicate the exact same voltages... Other than that, I have been told I should look into and external voltage regulator... The only problem with that is if I were to take the alternator back out, that would be a nightmare... I didn't take on the task of changing this alternator because it's in a very weird spot so I had the dealership do it... It took them 9...yes 9 hours to change the alt... The voltage just seems weird to me because if I'm driving, it's at about 13.6, and if I let off the gas as I am driving it goes up to 14.2 every single time I really appreciate everyone's input on this... Maybe it is just a Ford thing... I'll look into the external regulator and hopefully I won't have to send the Alt back to Nations Pioneer DEH 80PRS HU Ascendant Audio SMD 18" Audioque 3500.1D XS Power D3100 Rockford T1 components Rockford P400X4
AASMDBASS Posted March 16, 2014 Author Report Posted March 16, 2014 Do you just have one XS power 3100 as the second battery and that's it? What about your under the hood batt? I would want at least 2 d3100's for the AQ 3500.1 That amp is 4300 rms if you're talking about the one with the dual inputs. I'm running the setup in my sig and I have similar battery power to you and I drop to about 13.2 full tilt at 0.5 ohm on my DC 3.5k. I charge around 14.2. Yeah I just have the stock battery under the hood and just one D3100 in the back... I had this same exact set up in my 2001 Blazer extreme (minor difference in alts) and was pretty close to keeping it at 14.x volts most of the time... That's why I wanted to figure out why I'm not in this vehicle... The install is brand new, just got done 2 days ago Pioneer DEH 80PRS HU Ascendant Audio SMD 18" Audioque 3500.1D XS Power D3100 Rockford T1 components Rockford P400X4
hdorre Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 I thought there was a trick to having the alt charge higher. Maybe I'm confused with Honds or GM.. But either turn on ur headlights, AC/heat, or defroster. Then look at voltage. alaskanzx5 Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 I'm fairly sure they make voltage boosting modulators (? Could be wrong in naming) that will truck it into charging higher. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
