My guns have never been used killed anyone. I hope that they continue this way, but the day someone comes to take them, bullets will fly. I personally don't own or really care for assault rifles, only because I don't like the look compared to my other rifles, that's the only reason. IMO my 223 looks more "classy" than the assault style. THEY FUNTION EXACTLY THE SAME. The way they look is the only difference. People are so stupid it amazes me sometimes.

What if I made the argument that there really is not any such thing as an "assault rifle"?

It is a semi-auto rifle, ... just like your Grandad used to use when he went hunting decades ago ... Ooops ... What? It has some plastic, or other lie lightweight materials? Assault yet?

Optics are better nowadays? So are folks' bi-focals on their faces vs. just ten years ago, ... how about we take that away from the general public? But, assault yet?

Has different style stock, but still within legal limits, etc.? Assault yet?

Is there just too many accessories that make said semi-auto rifle look too "cool" for the public that it terms it "assault"? No.

Everything else in this world takes advantage of advancements in tech, why not the firearms industry? Because people REFUSE to educate themselves about the issues, the equipment, let alone the semi-auto rifle itself.

Now for the post-amble: I know I quoted you, gr8hand, but that was just because you kinda first brought up the term "assault rifle", which is a term that annoys the Hell out of me to no end, ... Yep, I wonder if the politicians realize that criminals don't follow the law.

Their laws only affect law abiding citizens. We can and will keep out guns.

Bloomberg liked/s to make his own rules as he went - & goes - along, ... biggest deal being the term limit - HIS extra term, but it was not cool with him when Giuliani might have stayed one more - & that may have been for agreed legit reasons.

Though I am in Central New York, it kills me to see what is going on down in the City, & how far it has radiated out to Long Isle, & up TWDs the Capital District.

... & F him on telling me how much soda pop I am buy/drink when I frequent NYC. Grrr! I cannot believe he got that passed ... I know he had "pull", but I never expected even his buddies would go along with such regulation(s).

Yup ... Bloomberg put through legislation on how much soft drink - in ounces - retailers could sell, per person, per purchase, in New York City ... he also did something with sodium (salt) intake/use, too. Worry about your own friggin' nutritional intake, ya 'lil nebbish.
