soundqubed 2 hds212 or 1 hds312

hey guys hopefully someone can help me out. im going to be buying either the SQ hds212, two of them or 1 hds312. i know cone space is king so obviously two hds212 will be louder but my concern is the size of the box. i heard sq/aq subs require big boxes. i got the dimensions for my trunk, 36(l) x 16 (h) x 24 (d). i know absolutely nothing when it comes to building or designing a box and i was wondering would that be big enough for the two subs. maybe i can even try a single 15 in the hds315. at the end of the day im trying to get as loud on 800-1200 watts as possible while also fitting easily in my trunk. Any help would be appreciated thanks

i have a pair of HDS312s in a 4cf box that is tuned to 35hz. i am VERY happy with them but they do take a long break in time. the suspension in them is stiff as all hell.

1200w with a pair of 312s would be very underpowered. i went from 1200 to 2500w RMS to feed them. so far i would say i am only giving them around 1700 or so due to my stock low output alternator. if you want loud and proper power a single 312 or even 315 with 1200w would be healthy bass with minimal upgrades. for daily driving my current setup is overkill, go deaf quick!

i would go with the 2 12s over just one. will have more cone area. but everything comes down to the box so it all depends on who builds it and how good of a design it is.

I have a T1D212 over powered on a T1500 in to highly tuned box(47hz) and trunk space is a problem for my car so i ordered 2 HDS310s and plan on building a proper box to house them. On the T1500 in 1 ohm they will see close to 900 watts each and hope for better substage than i have now.

2 12s or 1 15 for you would work well, its just all in the box design, power and what your goals are. Good luck

im leaning towards 2 12s im just concerned about the box size. will 36x16x24 max be enough for that 4 cu ft i will need, and as far as tuning goes, i listen to absolutely no decaf what so ever, just not my thing. mostly listen to hip hop, rock, and spanish music so i would assume it doesnt need to be tune crazy low. anyways will my dimensions work, and can anyone show me a basic design with those dimensions max. by the way its a daily driver, will only be seeing 800-1200 rms

SQ will be stiff for life. I had a pair for a year that never got "soft". It's their nature
