gckless Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 If it's a new Yellowtop, you better watch it carefully. Since they moved their build house the quality has gone way downhill. I've ran one, resting voltage fell within 3 months of daily driving. Google it, you'll see a lot of bad batteries. With that said, if it's sitting with a decent voltage now, I would say you should be fine until it takes a dump if you want to spend cash on other things. Just watch it. I have had my Sears Diehard Platinums for about 10 months now, and they have been great the whole time, no issues and still hold good voltage. Great warranty at that. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. Guest Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 Yellow tops aren't the best but its gotta be better than stock right? Just bought the duralast gold from autozone and it sucks nuts, going to trade up today for a yellow top! wet cells have a better chance at lasting longer than optima batteries.

Thankfully pep boys was cool and still honored the free replacement. So I left with a new duracell wet cell battery and fist full of cash. Xs Power ftw!

I to have a 02 grand am with 2.2 ecotec, what battery would you suggest I get from autozone??? P.s. I'm sitting in the parking lot! Lol thanks guys!

We put a duralast gold in my redtruck, great for the money, but not the right type of battery for heavy audio. Lol the duralast is working, just not very steady on the volts at idle. stock alts put out very little current while idling. of course voltage is going to drop. take yellow top back and get a duralast agm. watch when that yellow top decides to short a cell out then you cant start your car up.
