gibblegeibel
i have a set of skar audio vvxv2 10 d4's. i will be powering them by a skar audio 1500.1. i am trying to save on space in my truck. i was wanting to build a ported box. i was wondering if i could build a smaller box and mount the subs inverted? such as 1.25 cubic foot per sub for a ported box. RooTxBeeR
You can run inverted no problem. Do you plan to run both of them inverted? When you design the box, just take away the displacement of the sub in the design when you invert them. Kyblack76
How are you saving space? The subs, being inverted, will eat as much space than if you just built the box to the level the motors will be? Am i confused? gibblegeibel
well i should have asked if i could save space and if so how much?
RooTxBeeR
You can save safe, but not much. When I had 2 tens in the past, when I went from regular mounting to inverted, I gained a small amount of air space and only lowered my tuning by I think a little under 2 hz. timc31610
I don see how you would save any space. If your box is 12" deep with subs mounted normally then you invert your subs the will stick out about 8" or so making your effective depth 20".
