Thanks Jon for your info. I'll look around there some :D . I was unaware that anything besides shallow mount would fit under my back bench seat. The box I have is downfiring with only about an inch space under it. I read somewhere that you have to worry about subs hitting the floor if they are too big .. I'm reading up on the SD2 12 tho.. thanks :D

I hate shallow subs. If I had to do it and keep the seats id do 4 8s or 10s if you can fit them firing forwards with the ports out the sides towards the doors.

Dd 1508s or 2508s

sa 8s

dc 8s

hell I don't even know who makes 8s anymore b ut 4 of those on 2k or so would beat up and steal the shallow 12s lunch money

No problem, you shouldn't have to worry if you want to face them out towards the cab, :)

You could build a box cheaper the the one you want to buy.

2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d

140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed)

140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL

142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at)

141 on music.

price on the wiring kit is outrageous.

Yes for that cost he could use all SHCA wire

I really like the forward firing idea. But i thought i heard read in some of these threads that shallow mount subs are all that work in such space?? (trying to learn) That and i know this much.. the box i have was built to match the size / shape area under the backseat (stretching from door to door) The face (forward side) is 7 inches tall... not including the 1.5 inch legs to leave the gap to floor for the downfiring subs. and from front to back its 17.5 inches long .
I don't need to buy that one again. Linked for specs of my last setup. Its sitting in my extra bedroom with the subs still intact. At the time it appeared to be the only thing going for crew cabs. sealed and built for shallows (low amount of space)
That PKD1 kicker wire is for sale for as low as $$162 (newegg.com) I just put up the first link i found for specs.
Kit.. reputable name, and it did the trick. Any news of a similar more trusted kit?
Forward firing with normal depth subwoofers would suit me perfectly. I always had a feeling like downfiring combined with shallow was the negative affect / doing me in. And it beat the shit out of my aftermarket exhaust after months of use to the point where a really loud vibration / buzz happened.
No bass travel / heard from outside vehicle + massive rattle / buzz noise.. let me tell you.. shit looked stupid.
