tbeats
I also set my gain with the -10db track... I bump a lot of E40 . So would the -5db be a better choice against clipping? An still bang
tbeats
Or would a -7.5db track? I could turn it down on bass heavy tracks . -5db is a little soft Idk...

ImaNoob
And i would assume gain would be lower with car off, if its picking up distortion from charging system.. I would go test this but i cant get to my amps that easy.. MrSkippyJ
Rootbeer, I agree with engine on. But SMD recommends setting with engine off to cover their ass. Why wouldn't you set it how you run it? Cover their ass from what? I was told to set with the engine off to reduce the chance of extra noise that could be in the system. Seems like the question is what effect input voltage (power side not signal side) has on gain. I won't pretend to understand enough about how amps work to know the answer. ingramcaraudio
Just reading the link means to me that you shouldn't try powering the dd-1 from a cars charging systems it's not saying not to tune it when the vehicle off. It specifically says that it uses the 9v battery so it will measure distortion in the audio signal and not noise in the charging system. 1 Quote Facebookhttp://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Farmville-VA/Rockwell-Audio/103036213076623?ref=ts
