10" sonotube port flare ideas?

Recommended Posts

Looking at the idea of 10" sonotubes used as a port. Of course resin it for added strength.cant find flare suggestions other then rounding off the opening for the port. Was wondering what other creative ideas people can come up with

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

Well I keep reading one port is better then several and I can do a single 10" port 20-23" long for a 34-35hz tuning. The outside end of the port will have roughly 6-7" of clearance so it needs a decent flare. More then just a simple round over bit.

I might be able to gain an inch of clearance if I can squeeze an extra inch of height but I still want a decent flare to prevent issues.

I like the donut ring idea for the inside flare.

thinking something like that for the outside flare. Attach it to the box with some sealent and screws. Attach it to the sonotube with some epoxy or resin. Paint it for a cleaner look and add some mass to the metal.
