oldsoundguy Posted April 28, 2014 Report Posted April 28, 2014 I had a CT Sounds 2500 running two HDC 3 12s and the 2500 stopped working. I was sent a new 3000 in warranty exchange. Only difference is the 3000 has dual 1/0 power and ground inputs. So I didn't know why the 2500 stopped working but I ended up smoking the new 3000. Being frustrated I sent it back for exchange again and they are sending me a new 3000. I was blaming CT Sounds but then when I pulled my sub I found that the copper lugs I used on the sub wires touched and that put the amp into protect. For some reason the 2500 just stopped working and smoked right away but the 3000 went into protect. I was a little pissed so I tried over and over to turn it back on and it finally went out. So after all that I decided to just go with a new amp and sell the 3000. I purchased a new Soundqubed 2200. It came and I installed it and I was very impressed. It was loud as fuck. It made my subs pound harder than the 3000 or what I thought. I took both my front seats out of my Toyota Tacoma when I put the sub amp in so I could run speaker wire under the carpet for my second set of RE xxx speakers. I left my pass seat out when I did my test run of the SQ 2200 and it was very loud. Sounded way louder. Well I drove it that way for a few days. Then today I finished installing the RE component set. I installed the pass seat and damn if the subs didn't seem like they were hitting as hard. Weird so I came home and took out the seat and shit they pounded again. So now with the seat back in its still loud but damn I never thought just taking out a seat would make that much of a difference. So that's what I figured out today. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/

bcbrassard Posted April 28, 2014 Report Posted April 28, 2014 Ya with nothing stoping or slowing down the sound wave as much with the seat missing it was loud. I always test everything before i put the interior back in and its always loud as fuck. Then you get seats and console, ect back in and it never as loud. Cool story though. Bet it makes you want to drive around with no front seat! lol. Try laying it back or other position to see whats loudest.

oldsoundguy Posted April 29, 2014 Author Report Posted April 29, 2014 My truck is louder seats in. I've done both. try folding your pass seat forward See that's crazy how this all works. It obviously has to do with the vehicle, subs, power, size and tuning of box. Its very interesting to me. Now I understand why a certain set up will absolutely be different in each vehicle. All trial and error really. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
