What's up all, it's been a long time since I've been on here but I need some quick advice. I'm installing a single SA-8v1.75 in my buddy's F-250. It's wired to 4 ohm being ran off an Alpine MRX-M100, thus giving the sub about 600w RMS. Power is ran, ground is solid, we're reading 12V on the power wire. The rem. wire from the head unit reads 12V on, 0 off, but at the terminal on the amp it only reads 6V?

I know for a fact the amp is good, I owned it before I traded it off for his stuff and it was working when I pulled it and even then it was nearly brand new. All fuses are good, subwoofer setting is turned on at the head unit, I'm just confused as to what this could be. Anyone have any input? Thanks!

Loose connection somewhere. When u check the wire are u using the same ground as the amp? If so try a different ground and see if that fixes the problem. Otherwise check your connection at the head unit. If all else fails try a different remote wire. Process of elimination. Power can't just disappear it has to go somewhere

If unplugged from the amp, you see 12v, and plugged into the amp, you drop, then something in the amp, is taking it to down. Probably to ground.

Remove all wires.

Get meter, and put to continuity setting.

Put one probe on remote, and one to chassi and or chassi ground.

If you get any reading, your amp is in need of repair.
