About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd.
Guest Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 you WILL need a HO alt for that ct sounds 3000. 0 gauge. not 1 gauge. 1/0 or 0 gauge. 1 gauge is smaller. you may be able to get away with a single secondary d3100, along with an upgraded xs under the hood. depends on voltage. there shouldn't be a piece of 4 gauge in the whole build, unless you're wiring up mids and highs amps lol.

alaskanzx5 Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 3k rms will pull 200+ amps on music and can pull double that on test tones. title says 4000 watt build, your looking at 250-300amps of power draw on music roughly. Not including what the car wants/needs. for that I would look into a 200+ amp alt, eld bypass for sure, 0gauge big 3, 2 runs 0 gauge pos front to back (neg runs if you want). Then a good upgraded stock batt and an extra bigger Bart or 2 smaller ones. can get away with one 0gauge pos run but I would do 2 for piece of mind. The smaller the alt the more batts you need and the less play time you will get before dropping voltage becomes an issue. your off to a great start so just keep at it and dint take short cuts. Short cuts only create bottle necks in your system which can create less then expected results or worse case would be a fire hazard. ally Posted May 5, 2014 Author Report Posted May 5, 2014 Ive made my mind up on speakers and subs and deadner 2 pairs of audiocube 6.5 componet sets only 100 dollers each 1 pair of their super tweeters 2 hdc3 12s 40 square feet of deadner the green and black stuff will 40 feet be enough for my whole car? Gonna run the subs at 2ohms for electrical im gonna do the eld bypass upgraded battery under hoodf and extra battery in trunk Im going to go with the dc 180 amp alt Charges at 14.9 and does 130 amps at idle
