Swordlordboy1234 Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 So I'm getting ready to make my 1500 mile trip from austin texas to fort lauderdale florida. My tenney alternator is finally shitting. Charging 13.7 instead of 14.5 and my output under load is almost non existent now. Used to do 170 amps revving and now I'm prob closer to 90. My dc 270xp is gonna meet me in florida... but if it fails on this trip can i drive my car with no alternator? D3400 and d3100 as electrical. Battery charger in my car too. I also have my old stock one i can swap on the side of the road if needed.... Thoughts? Stock one can be replaced on the side of the road if it fails. Hopefully less then 2hrs alone with manual tools.
