alaskanzx5 Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 The focus can be a pain. You have depth if you don't go wide and you can go tall if you don't.go wide. To much depth and you.loose height. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
TG717 Posted June 6, 2014 Author Report Posted June 6, 2014 So what size box did you make that fit in without troubles? Our sizes cant be much different. The measurements i gave were all less than my space. A cardboard box could be a good idea lol, ill pick some up and test it out.
TG717 Posted June 6, 2014 Author Report Posted June 6, 2014 Best output in the car will be sub up port to the drivers side. Do not fire both sub and port up it is a waste of your time. Ive done pretty much every combination of sub and port placement in the car and sub firing up and port on the side of the box firing into the drivers side wheel well will be the loudest, best sounding setup in the vehicle. I did a build with a single 15 in my 2001 Zx3 that did a 152.6 sealed on the dash. If you want some help with specs pm me and I will hook you up.
alaskanzx5 Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 I've done a 2 12 box that was 19" tall 17.5-18" deep and 36"? Wide. It fit good but could only go wider. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
Joe X Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 I got 21 inches depth. Dont want to pass 19 though. Changed to port back, kept external dimensions away from limits to help with possible fitting issues, you should have the 4" clearance the port needs work properly.
alaskanzx5 Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 You might have 21" in the middle of the trunk for depth but on the sides the trim pieces and shape of the trunk knock you down to about 18". Bottom depth stays a constant 30" but could get in the way of folding the seats up and down but 29" would clear the seats fine. I don't think 30" would be an issue but should check with a cardboard box if building the box at an angle. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

TG717 Posted June 20, 2014 Author Report Posted June 20, 2014 Whats the status of this build lol? Slowly acquiring the tools needed lol. Still dont know what design I want to go with. Im no good at this stuff. Could someone please post a model for me including the size of each piece? I cant understand these box calculators. Also The port area needs to be simple. I dont have the experience or tools to make rounded ports.
