hispls Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 If you plan to resin the box, particle board will be just as good as MDF. I was just recently discussing this with a guy who tested identical spec boxes with MDF and particle board. The particle board gained far more from the resin than the MDF, but after the resin they were both the same.

And to take the logic a step further, why would you cheap out and buy particle board, only to buy fiberglass resin and coat the interior with a few coats? You could have bought MDF to begin with and had a much more dense enclosure that didn't need resin in the first plac. So any cost savings you had by purchasing particle board is wasted once you figure on cost of resin. And resin alone, doesn't add strength to an enclosure. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
