2011 F150 Update: Blown sub, wall planning back in progress

Recommended Posts

Semi-common. Do you listen to tunes just idling a lot? If not I wouldn't worry about it a ton. Do you go to shows and demo all day? if so yea something needs to get done. Either way man I see what you're saying and it's annoying, I would want it changed/fixed also. But, it does happen to others as well and if you don't plan on sitting there idling much then it's not even really an issue.

I forget what people have done to remedy it.

EDIT: I am noob, sorry I couldn't help. =(

I don't do a lot of idling or shows. But I still don't like that it's not working as it should. I feel like putting a smaller pulley on it would kick it in sooner for charging, but it's already got a smaller one than stock. So I don't want to go about doing that before doing some more research. I'm going to get in touch with excessive amperage, but I've had it for quite some time now. Over a year I think. So I don't know if he'll do anything for it.

Check out my build!

I hear ya. if you put a smaller pulley on it then it MAY* make it spin too fast of an RPM (the alt) and shorten it's life or burn it up. Definitely ask them also, and we'll see what other on here say as I know people have had this issue.

So... Have you looked into any ways to fix it yet? Or are you just going to leave it as is?

thought about upping idle speed? any handheld tuner should do it. hell the dealer might even do it for you, or atleast have a way of installing a high idle switch like they do on the PowerStrokes

Ya, I've considered that. But I'd rather just have it work the way it's supposed to, rather than dump more money into trying to make it work.

L7's need large boxes. How much he selling them for?

$2000. Seems reasonable to me. And I should have lots of room. Guys have done 4th orders with 6 18's in the back of an older body style. And I have way more cab space than them.

Same price as new SA-15's. I'd rather rock the Sundowns, but that's just me.
