Amp died, got pictures. Is this something normal?

Hello. I am no expert at all so if I say something stupid forgive me.

I have 2 re sex12d4 600rms running at 1 ohm on a RE ctx 4200.1 (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_68070_RE-Audio-CTX-4200.1.html)

So my setup was working fine for about a month then my amp died. I opened it up to look and here are some pictures. I'm not even going to bother to fix it. It this something common? or maybe I just had a dud. I guess i'm asking what would cause something like that?

So I was going to buy this Rockford fosgate R1200-1D (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_34764_Rockford-Fosgate-R1200-1D.html)

Anyone think, this is ok to do? I rather not break another amp. I doubled checked all my wires, I did have a loose ground wire on my deck but i fixed it. My gain was set right, wasn't cranked up like alot of new people like me would do.

it looks like you was feeding it low voltage

You could get a soundqubed q1-1200D also just like you did recheck everything before installing

oh I see, So is this an effect from not giving the amp enough power? I only have a 120 stock alt, I rather not upgrade to a bigger alt, It it safer for me to just buy new 2 lower power subs like 350rms each? I'd get an amp that does about 700rms @ 2 ohms. I don't live in the US and it gets real expensive real fast shipping heavy amps and subs around lol.
