Cheap cheap subs went from sealed boz to ported 36 hertz.. no increase??

I just put my no name subs that hit ok for what they are in a sealed box, into a ported box tuned to 36 hz... no increase at all. The specs are within the subs favor (about 1.75 cubes per) and there's no increase at all that's really THAT noticeable. Any ideas?

Was this box custom built for these subs, or is just a prefab box tuned to 36hz with no port area that everyone buys from the china man's shop down the block?

It's kinda hard to make a shitty sealed box, rather easy to make a shitty ported box though

Are the subs wired exactly the same way?

Yeah I made sure they were wired the same. But even at that I could've somehow made a mistake, though I'm pretty meticulous. It was more of an experiment so I'm not too upset. But as we all know money doesn't grow on trees so I'm kinda like DAMN. My next step is to just purchase a quality set of subs and go from there. I kinda like the specs and price of American Bass TNT's.

Where did this ported box come from? You didn't answer if it was built specifically for these subs or not. My guess is going with the ported box being junk, as said above. The subs could just be that bad and entry level though as well.

Ported box was "custom built" stealing a Kicker box design. The subs are entry level at their absolute finest. I'm just not sure how there was not a difference. If it had been worse, that would've been 1 thing. But it was almost exactly the same to a T. Same songs that I know hit, hot the same, and songs that didn't hit low before were just a lil more clean and not as muffled. I know most of u guys have way better equipment than I do, so I thank yall for even trying to help, sincerely
