Karkov
Used DD-1 to find highest undistorted volume of HU. Instructions say do the 40 hertz tone and 1khz tone and average the two. I just wanna make sure others have the same thoughts as I do. I put tracks onto my USB as that is what I use the most and wanted this set using that. results... sub out 40 hz volume 38/40 rear out 40 hz volume 36/40 rear out 1 khz volume 38/40 front out 40 hz volume 36/40 front out 1khz volume 38/40 so what would you guys consider highest undistorted volume? lol..... 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. Weigel21
Is this a serious question? According to what was said, you'd average the numbers and get 37, but IMHO, no one is going to play their full-range without HPF them, especially if they're going to be running a sub to cover the lows. and so the 40Hz test for them is null and void IMO. I'd say 38 is the maximum volume level to be quite honest.
Karkov
I am curious what others are getting when they test out all these things? Also, I should add that when I DD-1 the amps even if the distort lights goes off, I go even lower to make sure the amp is not making any noise at all (sometimes they whine when distorting when not hooked up to speakers). Then when I use the CC-1 to gain match I go back and forth to make sure they are perfectly matched. Also, both sub amps LPF is set with CC-1. I know I am tired so maybe I am just over thinking this all. I thought when i was doing all this that there was some other stuff I came up with but I don't remember at the moment. 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. I was more curious what others opinions would be if it was their set up and what they would be safe playing to. Also, yes HPF's will be set precise with CC-1 whether running passive OR active. Appreciate the input though. =) 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. Noel989
I think theirs a reason why it says to average it out I personally just use the lowest Which in your case is 36 Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/

Weigel21
Guess I just don't get it. I don't see how a frequency that is likely to be attenuated to near, if not completely, inaudible levels would be such a huge factor in determining the maximum undistorted volume level of the HU.
