Travis Retrum Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Hi everyone so I plan on getting some pro audio mids for my doors. I already have the CT Sounds tweeters but was curious what does everyone like for pro audio mids? I was looking at the sundown ones or the Crescendo but will also consider other options.
truthsayer Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Best advice, would be to listen to as many as you can. Then make your decision to what sounds the best to you. Just remember enclosure and placement will play a big roll in sound quality. truthsayer
Kevin M Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 check out usspeaker.com for ideas. It's a pro audio fun house over there. Lots of great gear. 2005 Ford Focus zx4 AMT's and Planars 18" Infinite baffle
OrionStang Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 None. Sure it s loud as fuck, but there's nothing like hearing my Hertz components active after a day at a show where everyone and there mom has a stupid amount of PA mids and highs destroying eardrums. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
Travis Retrum Posted June 17, 2014 Author Report Posted June 17, 2014 Well the whole point is for it to be loud as fuck. If I wanted a sq build I wouldn't be going with pro audio speakers. This is gonna be a spl car. Don't get me wrong i like sq too but the whole point of this is to be stupid loud
Miguels Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 the crescendo pwx actually sound good. my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
bbeljefe Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 I like CT Sounds but then, I'm a CT Sounds dealer so of course I would say that, right? But to be serious, I've also run Neo Pro PA mids and there isn't any audible difference in the two when placed in the same environment. The CT mids are shallower so if depth is a consideration, keep that in mind. I've also installed a number of dB Drive PA mids and they too are good speakers. Ditto Soundstream, Crescendo and pretty much any other PA mid you want to look at. As for durability, I've beat the hell out of Neo Pros and CT Sounds mids and haven't had a failure yet. Although to be fair, the Neo Pro would seem to have better cooling but, I'm running six CT Sounds PA8s on >200 watts each and have run one pair on close to 400 each with no problems. Same with the Sundowns. In the end, I'd say get what you like and make sure they're in well deadened doors. Travis Retrum Posted June 17, 2014 Author Report Posted June 17, 2014 Ok thanks for all the help. I don't have a way to hear any before I buy them because no where around here carrys pro audio speakers. I think the sundown speakers are what I will go with.
