soundstream15
Can someone explain what happens when the power wire touched the ground on the amp?
Bump4life
if there is polarized caps the current would flow wrong way and pop them. also might screw up mosfets. im not too sure 100% how they switch in a class d. GorillaFIngeRs
Get a DMM and check polarity of your wires before putting that voltage to your new amp. Sounds like you basically dead shorted the electronic components most likely. How your amp fuse didnt blow... thats a mystery. soundstream15
My subs are dual 1. Wired in series to 1ohm I put a dmm on them to double check and they are at 1ohm, my aq2200 was fine on them so if something was wrong with subs then that amp would of went. Also, I don't fuse from rear battery to amp..
Krakin
If you send a positive signal to a NPN transistor and if you send a negative signal to PNP transistors you're going to have a bad time. I once did this on a simulation and just watched them all go pop pop pop pop. It should do the same with lateral transistors that are found in D-Class amplifiers. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. If you are uncertain of what is your positive and negative for some reason, got wanna put your meter across what you think is positive and negative. make sure your meter doesnt read -13.5v or whatever AQ3500.115" Fi SP41/0 Knuconceptz Power/Ground 1/0 Sky High Big 3 UpgradePioneer AVH-4200NEXXS Power D1200 Underhood Intimidator Gel In Trunk CES 250A Alternator
Phaeton
Hey! i remember when i switched my + and - on my amp before. It just blew the main power line fuse and thats it :/ i guess my mb quart amp took it like a boss. Perhaps your fuse was big enough to let enough jazz into your amp to damage it. i only had a 100 amp fuse so it popped fast. 1997 subaru legacy outback Four 15's in a almost wall Rockford Fosgate t2500-1bdcp Rockford Fosgate T400-4 on tweets Rockford Fosgate T400-4 on highs Rockford Fosgate T400-2 on midrange Rockford Fosgate T400-2 on midbass Optima Yellow top batteries 270A Singer alt (working on a bracket for a second) Lots of Second Skin
