geekybasshead98
I have a garage system and getting a new amp in the mail here in a few days. I have an amp I use for the sub right now but moving it to the speakers. Now that I have 2 amps I don't have enough room on my current setup Current Setup: Planned setup: I could not find a threaded rod screw plate in the 3d warehouse so I improvised The Red things are threaded 1/2" rod. Questions: 1.) Will it wobble? 2.) I want to add a fan for each amp, What size will work and will a 12v fan run on 14.4-8v tops? side note, I'm going to get an xs power battery to replace the one that is in the picture. not that that has anything to do with this subject but... And anyone interested in the "build" tell me and I will upload pictures of building this Pioneer DEH-X6600BT (1) Rockford Fosgate R1200-1D (1) Alpine 1242D 12" Type R ported 32-35hz
RooTxBeeR
1) If all nuts are tightened down, I don't see why it would. 2) It should, I used to use fans in my old set up hooked up directly to my remote relay which fed the power my car saw. gckless
Depending on how you have it bolted to the floor, it should not wobble. I can tell you for sure that 12V fans will run up to 15.2V. Just regular computer fans anyway. I have 8 of them in my current amp rack. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. gckless
Depends on how you're mounting it. But there's a couple different sizes of computer case fans. Looks like 120mm, which are really popular and there's like thousands of them, will fit right in there. 120mm is like 4.72". "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. I have/want the levels to be around 4 3/4"(120.65mm) apart but that will all depend when I'm done. Edit: Now that I think of it the current amp only gets hot when on LPF so it wont require a fan, but I want to put one down at the very bottom because I don't want the Stereo/any components under there to overheat. bigmizzle99
It will wobble if the shelves are not level when tightened. You really only need 3 legs. I had a couple of these salamander style shelves with 1/4" aluminum shelves. Easy to make and durable.
