Syphlyn Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 Hey guys, Recently got my new amp (SAZ-2000D) and hooked it up for the first time. All went good except when I shut down my truck the amp "popped". It does this every time and only on shutdown. I've been told its the remote signal as it stays on after my vehicle is off for 2-3 seconds and the pop is the capacitors in the amp releasing the energy. Anyways I'm told I need a relay to avoid this and I'm reading up on the subject but am fairly confused. Someone pointed me to these: http://www.ceautoelectricsupply.com/turnonrelaykits.html mainly interested in the second one as there's no room left behind my HU. Would that work and solve my "popping" issues? Off my remote wire I'll be running a volt meter, 4 channel amp and my SAZ-2000D. How do you install one of these? To me it seems overwhelming and I'm not even sure how to go about doing it. Sorry for my scrambled post I hope it makes sense, Thanks Syphlyns 2000 F150 4.6L V8 H/U: Kendwood KDC-X898 Speakers: 4 x Alpine SPR-68 Speakers 4 Channel Amp: Alpine PDX-F4 Sub: Sundown Zv4 12 Sub Amp: Sundown SAZ-2000D Box: 2.75 Cu Ft @ 31Hz Alternator: Mechman 250A elite series Wiring: All KnuKoncepz 0 gauge OFC + KnuKonceptz Krystal RCAs
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 I'm sure if you order it Tony will help you get it wired up correctly. don't let it scare you it's not hard if you can wire your head unit and amps you can wire this as well. Also don't forget Tony offers all smd members a discount. I would think it would be best for you to call and talk with him and I'm sure he will direct you to what you need and how to install. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

I've got 16 gauge going straight from the remote output on my headunit to my monoblock and then another wire from the monoblock remote to my 4 channel. I will soon also be adding a volt meter.
