hispls Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 The window or door open will act as another port, and make your cabin behave like the front chamber of a bandpass box. More often than not it gains, but sometimes it looses or makes no difference at all. From what I've seen it's a most dramatic gain in pickup trucks. I've been told that boxes with smaller ports gain more when you open a window but I haven't really done much testing since everything up this way is sealed at the dash. Really if you're competing you need to own a meter and test for yourself unless you know somebody that has owned the identical vehicle and done all the testing already.
