hispls Posted August 2, 2014 Report Share Posted August 2, 2014 The window or door open will act as another port, and make your cabin behave like the front chamber of a bandpass box. More often than not it gains, but sometimes it looses or makes no difference at all. From what I've seen it's a most dramatic gain in pickup trucks. I've been told that boxes with smaller ports gain more when you open a window but I haven't really done much testing since everything up this way is sealed at the dash. Really if you're competing you need to own a meter and test for yourself unless you know somebody that has owned the identical vehicle and done all the testing already.
