Did the math the old fashioned way, or what did you use to come up with the port length/area? 2015 Toyota Tacoma Build Thread 2007 Mazda 3; 5000K HID's, Kenwood Excelon KDC-X997, Infinity Reference 6.5 comps in front and coaxials in the rear doors, JL 320.4 four channel, Rab Designs built ported enclosure with an SA12, Kenwood monoblock, Redline Leater shift boot/e-brake boot/center console cover, JBR short shifter/shifter bushings/rear motor mount. Pioneerchuck
Just by using the numbers you provided I came up with: Gross Volume - 4.36 Port Volume - 1.48 Physical Port length - 29.50 Port Area - 46.25 Port Area per Foot - 17.13 Net Volume - 2.70 Tuning Frequency - 34.

lowrhadur
had a guy on another forum tell me this "However off of just math I am showing 3 cu ft. After displacement. And 32.9hz tuning. Your port length is actually 31.5."
lowrhadur
You were pretty close. thanks man, needed some verification. Do you think this box will work well with sub firing up ported back with this dc lvl3 15?
Ritch40
while i dont know about that sub and vehicle, i will say this...the box does need some additional bracing. I would also STRONGLY encourage you to round off the edges on the boards that make your port. Those hard corners will cause a lot of turbulence and make the port be inefficient . also, on the width and depth on the bottom board that your driver mounts to. id shorten up those dimensions by 1.5" each (assuming 3/4" wood) and then extend your sides, front, and back by 3/4" . you keep your same outside over all dimensions and yet in my opinion have a much stronger enclosure
timc31610
I would use a couple of 1 1/4" dowel rods for bracing. Should sound good. And definitely round all the port edges!
