refurbished amps ok?

how do you guys feel about refurbs? specifically im looking @ a rockford fosgate, but im interested in input from anyone that's gone the refurb route or that has good info and input about refurbished amplifiers in general.

btw i searched the forum for a "refurbished" post and i couldnt find anything dedicated to this topic just a few mentions here and there.

its from a top rated seller on eBay. here's the quote on the item page“Refurbished and sealed by the manufacturer. Quality remanufactured appears new in brown box. This unit comes with all original accessories supplied by the manufacturer. Some items may have minor cosmetic blemishes (scratches, dents etc.) where is not visible when installed. Top part of amplifier where it is visible is replaced with new cover and looks brand new.”

Manufacturer refurbished should be as good as new if you're not too OCD about slight signs of prior use.

x2 if it's refurbished by Rockford you should be all good. You could even ask the seller for the serial number and call Rockford and verify the work was done by them.

My personal take on it is if you want a great amp like RF and not pay the high dollar price refurb is the only way I'd go... I'm a cheap prick for the most part a RF refurb is the same as a brand new product.

I got sold an referb by Chris miller. He is an american bass dealer an said it was brand new in box but later found out it was referb by American bass. Works fine I guess (let me go knock on wood)

Nothing wrong with official refurbs.

New product might have production workmanship issues which could cause the product to fail or a known issue.

A refurbd product should have those issues cleared up.

Also keep in mind something called NPF (no problem found). Somebody could have returned a product but had user problems. The company tests the product and finds nothing wrong and resells it and needs to mark it "refurb" even though it's perfectly fine.

Refurbs could also get component upgrades of the company found a defect.

i got a refurb rf amp from an authorized dealer, and i love it! never even gets hot and sounds amazing! i was a little worried at first, but now i couldn't be happier,its been going strong for 2 years now.
