not gonna lie, even on a low end monster, 148 out of an SUV with a 7K wired at .5 ohms on a good electrical isn´t good at all

Try out 8 c/f and 4 6" aeros , should burp and sound WAY louder, you could also just build a port insert and use 3 aeros for daily and get a low end monster

I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. Panamenian 2009 & 2010 & 2014 Bass Race 149.9 Champion!

2 15" subs and a 2K wired at 1 ohm, http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167788-fecupe2001-2-15s-on-a-2k-video-on-page-3/

You need more port area. Last single 15'' I had was running 78.5 sq inches and sounded awesome. Level 5s move alot of air so increase :) . But at the end of the day it all comes back to preference and setup. Normally for SPL people lean towards more port area (above 15 sq inches per cube) and SQ in the 12-14 range. But like I said its what you like. Try and error is key, so give the big port a shot and if you don't like it you can go back your current setup.

Hey OP, what I was getting at with my comments were that Torres doesn't recommend for a specific driver. It only recommends for generic guidelines.

I'd double that port area if you have the room. If you don't have the room for the proper amount of port area, you just don't have room to run that specific 15" sub, 2 of then anyway. If you are limited on space, aa couple of 12s with PROPER amount of interior volume AND port area well sound better(more musical) and get louder than your current choked out setup.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

CJ's respponse to lvl6 15's. This is a good idea of where the lvl5's also need to be

Lets get down to actually answering your question. The subs are dual 2 ohm and will be on a 5k per sub. 3.5-3.75ft3 net per sub. I see so many people lately suggesting these HUGE amounts of port area and just dont quite understand that. 15in2 per 1ft3 has treated me well and always sounded good.

By his own admission, Cody(CJ) is not an enclosure designer and didn't design or build the enclosure in his own vehicle. He ALWAYS suggests low side of port area for DC products. I'd be willing to BET that an enclosure with 140" of total port area would completely skull drag the enclosure with 78" of total port area. 39" of port for a high throw 15" sub is low, in MY opinion.

Smoove your suggestion would put him at 105-112" total port area. THAT would even be significantly more than the 78" he's currently sitting with in his design.

I use a minimum of 50 sq inches for a 15'' sub, especially in a smaller enclosure. Otherwise 60+ is my zone. Yah he should go over a 100 since he wants spl
