dawgs007 Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 Before I start, I would like to ask the guys who intend to flame/be a douche to please stop here and turn around. This is just for my own knowledge growth... Now, I am curious. I recently acquired a new trunk subwoofer system (2 P3 12's, P1200.1d) and I have noticed a substantial difference in SPL. I can now feel pressure on my chest and tingling in my throat. For those of you who check db levels of their own systems (trunk preferably), at about what db level do you begin to feel the bass on your chest/throat area? Again, I understand there is no definite answer and there is millions of variables, BUT I am just looking for a ballpark estimate of where I may be at. Thanks! Tecomah Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 I know someone with two p3 12s in an suv doing around a 140... that being said there are so many variables in this question. I know cars that are nasty as fuck but fail hard on the meter. edit: it surprised the shit out of me he got a 140 too. probably not a tl. I wasn't there 750??! Yeah, fuck that. My old MOFO seemed to be "loud" to the ears, it would never really pound on your chest. The new P3's seem to vibrate the car and passengers more violently while making conversation impossible due to the low freq. Seems like the MOFO was tuned a little higher and hit higher freq. while the P3's hit much much lower freq. On a meter, do you want low rumbling freq. or a freq. in which is more audible than felt? Tecomah Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 speaking totally in generalities higher frequencies do better on the meter. hell of a lot easier to do a 150 at 40 hz than 20 hz unless you're kevin 750??! Yeah, fuck that. Fuck this website, fuck SMD, fuck Steve, fuck all of his butt buddy mods, and their couches.^ DON'T BE A DICK LIKE THIS GUY Team Subsonic Lows

Not arguing, just making sure I understand. Weigel21 Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 It's quite possible. A vehicle will naturally increase notes in the 40-60Hz range more so than frequencies in the low 30's and lower.

bighossf150 Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 Meh, my truck doesn't like high frequencies, peaks at 38 and falls off in the upper 40's but will do over a 150 down to 22. Used to have a loud truck 2009 Corvette Z06, H/C/I, 150 shot, g force tune, 730rwhp/690rwtq 2013 F-150 limited, MPT Tune, leveled on 35"s
