Skullz
Trial and error and deep pockets for teeth chattering. The more you build and learn the more you learn to do what others can do for less. As in every hobby, experience is the key to achieving your goals. Start with simple and low cost pieces and try to maximize the most from that and as you learn to get the most from the equipment in your possession. Here is a great place to start. http://www.parts-express.com/cat/speaker-design-books/1524 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2

SlamminBeats
teeth chattering bass is easy, can be done on stock setups. play the bass when it cold outside. but in reality you need 6 18s walled on 30k minimum
Guest
depends on the loudest vehicle you've ever sat in. probably START at 5krms if you're not a basshead. can go upwards of 50,000w for some people before it even starts to affect anything. Maybe build it with goals of frequency response and loudness across that bandwidth.
