My HDS312 took about 2 months or so to loosen up a little bit. It's still pretty stiff even after 3 months of daily use on a Hifonics Brutus Elite 1700.1D. The change was so subtle, it's hard to really gauge how big of a change it actually was, since I never took a SPL or decible reader to it.

My zv3/zv4 took a few months of daily 2k to start getting loose. My nightshade doesnt feel any different since i first got it. Pushing on the cone feels like your finger will go through the cone before it even moves much. I bet it did loosen up though,if only i could take before and after t/s parems.

Mine took about a week and a half of RALING on it to get it to where it's going to be

What did I notice? Sounded a lot smoother at higher excursion levels. I think the stiff suspension was creating an artifact and you could hear it. But once it loosened, that went away. That was it though, anything else wasn't significant enough for me to go "Oh yeah that's obvious"

Subs were team AA 18s on 8k
