pioneerforlife
That wall will do some work. and like I said the rubicon amps are awesome. I have ran one and have had buddies run them. I run the tarantula 3K's and those are great as well. Running them at quarter ohm with no problems. also I would tune between 32-34. if you wanna play lows and highs fairly well then tune to 34. if you don't care about highs as much, 32. 2007 Ford Focus SES Hatchback Pioneer HU 4 Digital Designs 9515i's in a B pillar. 2 Soundstream XXX 15K's (running at 16 volts) Soundstream Mids/Highs in custom door panels (getting rebuilt soon) Soundstream TA2.160 and TA2.400 Sky High and KNU wiring 3 Banks of Maxwell caps Winston Lithium (not a fan) Bump4Life 250 Amp Alt. aka USAlternators Soundstream Focus and Avenger Build Log Instagram @p4linnovation YouTube: Team Blowin Loud
MaxVolume
the difference between 32 and 34 hz seems pretty small when it's going to be designed on a computer, built by hands, and loaded into a car environment. build it at 30/32/75 hz whatever and if you want it lower/higher, rebuild port and change it +/- 5 hz. I have a few designs for my next build and all incorporate interchangeable ports for this very reason. I really want to see how this turns out, and if after a while he wants more out of it, he can always upgrade amps later
memphissound3180
I'm hoping it will bc it's in a probe so small car + wall should = breaking stuff but should I strap them at 2 ohms so each amp is seeing 4 ohms or at 1 so each is seeing .5? I've heard you can run them at .5 but they get pretty hot after awhile
pioneerforlife
If you strap at 2 each amp would see 1 ohm. I would try that to be safe at first. then maybe drop it lower after a while. but you can run them at .5 but with good cooling (fans) and good electrical. 2007 Ford Focus SES Hatchback Pioneer HU 4 Digital Designs 9515i's in a B pillar. 2 Soundstream XXX 15K's (running at 16 volts) Soundstream Mids/Highs in custom door panels (getting rebuilt soon) Soundstream TA2.160 and TA2.400 Sky High and KNU wiring 3 Banks of Maxwell caps Winston Lithium (not a fan) Bump4Life 250 Amp Alt. aka USAlternators Soundstream Focus and Avenger Build Log Instagram @p4linnovation YouTube: Team Blowin Loud
SlamminBeats
running sound stream amps at 2 ohms, not disappointing?... sorry no offense OP anyways if you want to play down to 30 hz then id suggest tuning to around 35-38hz. I cant really say for sure but that range would be a good start. I had my hdcs tuned at 42 lol they dropped off at 34 hz. I then cut my port big time and dropped tuning and they could play down to 28hz. if i had to guess i would say i was tuned at upper 30s.
memphissound3180
I have one AQ 18 in a 6 cubic foot box right now tuned to 30-31 and it starts to drop off around 24-25 but I don't need to go that low
memphissound3180
If I get two of the AQs how much port are should I have? 120"? Bc I have a design for both tuned to 30hz in about 13 cubic foot
