SPL.Pantie.Soak
I hear a lot of people talk about welding cable for budget friendly options I have also heard it doesn't hold up so well in car environments. Worked pretty well for me, but every one can have different results, I will admit the jackets don't like being bent as much as the caraudio specific cable. But the temp ratings are bomb for under the hood. I'm sure flexibility is fine, I have just heard that the oils, grease, dirt, and other shit from under the hood breaks down the insulation since it isn't designed to be in that environment. (I haven't tested it, so this is complete hearsay) Oh that does make sense, I havent seen any of this but youre probably right. I should make a test of some sort... Im not as bright as you guys so ill take your word for it and put sleeves over all my "under the hood" wire. MrSkippyJ
That being said, the welding environment is pretty harsh too. my dad worked in a wire shop (like solid wire for fan guards and similar things) where the wire was coated in diesel fuel to help stop corrosion. So the environment was pretty oily and nasty. As far as I can remember there were never any issues with the insulation going bad. Maxima
Should I change the RCA's from my Knu 4 Guage kit or anything other than power wire?
SPL.Pantie.Soak
Should I change the RCA's from my Knu 4 Guage kit or anything other than power wire? Ive used those same RCAs, the build quality is pretty poor, so yes I would change them out for another pair. I'm also not the biggest fan of the speaker wire either. Seeing as its cheap, you might as well replace both Kenwood KVT-614 (4) Marathon 155 AH batts 2/0 OFC SHCA Mechman 370 (2) Audioque 3500.1 (2) AA Mayhem 15s

This cannot be beat its OFC and given bass-head's history you will want to go bigger in the future and with this cable you don't even have to switch out the CCA for OFC in the future! not equivalent to "car audio" 1/0s like knu and shca
