I need to recone my subs but the coils are perfectly fine. Just curious, if not F-em.

The coils come with the recone kits.

Wurd, a "recone" should include the coil. I wouldnt wanna try and glue the Tjoint anyway.......

And to clarify, my new recones are complete. I dont want to use the old coils on my current subs, I'm only reconing for better ohm load match to the amp. Thinking about the possibility of building a new sub with one of the old coils - again, they are perfectly fine dual 1.4 coils. Another MT motor / basket and some other soft parts and I could have a really nice 12 or something.

gluing a triple joint is not hard. but doing it correct and making it look clean is another story.

having your measurements of the woofer gap, the basket landing height, and knowing how and where to put the coil in the gap, top plate, as well as figuring out where your spiders get glued to the former are another thing (these are all things that will be different and the motor, coil, and basket all change them).

Now saving a coil to reuse... If you got more time than money go nuts.

Better get a lot of acetone or ca glue unbonder both which dont work as easy as you think they would.

Also make sure not to damage the lead out wires on the coil or else its junk.

But if you feel like spending 3+hours, materials to clean it, etc instead of buying a new 30-50$ coil have at it!

Thanks that sums it up for me. I think I'll have a go at it. I definitely have more time than money. Worse I can do is break some shit and learn something trying it.
