"Big 3" question

Recommended Posts

More "dimming" after the big 3 could be just fine.

Your alt is now able to let max go, as well as your AMP/elctrical is now ABLE to put what it "wants/needs"

To me, it shows your actually getting/seeing the power that was always there, but being held back.....

when you say "held back" right.. whats that mean, the alt right? i went from 14.2 to 14.5/6 at idle after the big 3 btw.. but when the bass hits it drops to like 12.8 lowest

What wires did you add for the big 3? You should alt+ to batt +, alt case to batt -, alt case to frame, batt - to frame.

Sometimes doing the big 3 can also cause your lights to dim worse as you are now giving the amp the ability to pull more current whereas before it was bottlenecked by your wiring.

i did all this except the alt case to frame. i did alt case to batt- , batt- to frame, alt+ to batt+ trying to get a pic ina few.

Well, a few things here. Adding the big 3 should not increase your voltage. Wires dont make voltage. UNLESS you where held back from something. (the oem wiring should be more than enough to get you the most out of OEM gear) Like a bad connection, or shitty corroded wire.

That said, now that the alt can "dump" its full output, your amp will TAKE all of it, dragging you down even more than before. Its just letting your after market gear, work like it should. So to speak.....
