Kade
Pioneer FH-X700BT has a front RCA out and switchable sub/rear out. I want to maintain all 4 channels for balance and fading, but want to add a sub with the use of a 5 channel amp. What are my options? 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT (Silver) Deck: Pioneer X3600BHS Amps: RF P1000X5 Front: RF P16-S Rear: RF P1694 Subs: 1 RF P3D2-10 Cabling: Stinger 6 channel RCA, RF 4gauge kit, SkyHighCarAudio 16gauge speaker wire. MrSkippyJ
The amp can probably work on front and rear inputs only. But unless you have some external sound processor you aren't getting balance and fade and sub from front/rear RCAs. ROLEXrifleman
most 5 channel amps take 4 channels of input and split off the rear to get the 5th channel input. So unless the 5 channel amp you have accepts front rear sub inputs you may not have control of the sub output. There may be some 5 channel amps out there that have a "bass" knob buy i don't know of any off the top of my head. The best answer though is to get full use out of the 6 channels of output your radio has is make sure you have 6 channels of amplifier input. 3 two channels, 1 four channel and one two channel, Two 2 channels 1 mono block...... you get the picture Rolex you sicken me. MrSkippyJ
He only had 4 channels of output from his radio. no way he can do a 5 channel amp and retain the use of fade/balance without affecting the sub channel. I see what you're saying in your second paragraph, but I only have 4 RCA outs. 2 of them function as sub OR rear. I can't use 6 channels all at once. Now that I think about it, when I fade and balace with a cable splitter installed, the sub output of the amp would be affected, wouldn't it? 2009 Dodge Caliber SXT (Silver) Deck: Pioneer X3600BHS Amps: RF P1000X5 Front: RF P16-S Rear: RF P1694 Subs: 1 RF P3D2-10 Cabling: Stinger 6 channel RCA, RF 4gauge kit, SkyHighCarAudio 16gauge speaker wire. SIDE SHOW
split the rear channel rca.... just wont have sub control (must all be done and setup at the amp)
MrSkippyJ
if he splits the rear channel, the sub is affected by the fade/balance though. That is what he is trying to avoid. He can't avoid that using that amp and headunit.
