Build? Or buy? Tripple alternator bracket

Recommended Posts

Posted

Ok so first off I have a 05 yukon SLT I just ordered some ac delco 252amp alternators by recommendation from my local electrical shop (batteries, alternators, starters, 28 years experiance)

But now I obviously need a triple alternator bracket. So I woul like some opinions on weather I

A) build my own (I am a CNC machinist so this wouldnt be terribly hard)

B) buy one from a company?

For the cost I think I could build one wayyyy cheaper than buy one, BUT a bought one has already been tested on design and is known to work....

Please help me decide..

Thanks

Do you have more money than time?

Or do you have more time than money?

Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born.

My penis is bigger than your penis

I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.

It's my daily driver otherwise there would be no question... If I build it myself I will be tearing it apart and building it while I'm at work... Obviously not on company time.. but I would have access to 8 3axis mills small-large ,lathes , welders, etc, about anything I would possibly need for the project

Being that is your daily driver it would be a tough decision. I will take more time then you think and taking you truck apart 3-100 times gets old fast. Unless you have use of a second car while you do this.

If you have more money than time I say throw the money at it. Jz designs on facebook made mine. Without the use of a extra car it will get old fast.
