gckless
Anyone know a good stereo tube amp or kit? I'd prefer one built already, I've never assembled one, but I'm not against it. Somethin like 8W or more per channel would be good. The cheaper the better, don't want to go above $1000 really. RCA inputs would be preferable, but more would be nice. I will be building speakers for it. I did notice this that looks nice: https://www.frenzeltubeamps.com/page30.php Also this: http://www.s5electronics.com/l16stereo.html "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. ROLEXrifleman
Not that its on the same level, but I was going to do a tube amp for my headphones. gckless
Not that its on the same level, but I was going to do a tube amp for my headphones. Either one of you two try that in the past? No sir, I'm not really a headphone guy. Actually, I've never had an amp with a tube power section other than a couple guitar amps. I've had a couple more amps with only tube preamps. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. Ricky Reboot Dean
I had an old tube amp powering a 10" sub. Powered good. Only problem I have with tube amps is if a tube dies it make a buzzing noise or doesn't work at all. I looked into getting new tubes but couldn't find any. I would buy another one in a heart beat. Can't remember brand name.
Broke_Audio_Addict
Think about hunting garage sales or antique shops? You can get a steal of a deal on old school tube amps if you hunt around. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. Stephen13
If you’re up for building one yourself and have good soldering skills it’s hard to beat an ST-35 or ST-70http://www.dynakitparts.com/ 2011 Chevy Silverado LT 5.3L 4x4 Ext.-cab "Enjoy yourself. But that's a hell of an amp from the looks of it. Might have to give it a try and see how it goes. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now.
