Got an alternator question..

I know the resting voltage of my battery is 12.7-12.8.. Wires seemed fine going back to my amp, nothing changed there other than not having my 2nd battery back there..

The only other thing I could think of is that I removed my 2nd battery ground to engine block when I put my 2nd battery up front since the battery was bigger it didn't really fit well.. Could this be an issue since I still have my positive alt to positive on the battery but no BIG ground going from engine to battery? I'm puzzled at what is going on in this situation..

the ground from chassis to engine is often times the ground for the starter motor and alternator/s.

Cables and wires almost never fail; the terminations do.

Hmmm, so by putting that ground back that could solve my problem? Or does it sound like an alternator problem.

start with the things that are relatively inexpensive to fix: belt slip, ground straps, and electrical connections

Cables and wires almost never fail; the terminations do.

Could I try the whole start the vehicle, then pull off the terminal on the battery post and see if the alternator goes to a regular charging voltage, if it does then it's just my battery correct? Or is that extremely frowned upon..

If you want to fk up some more shit then do it, there are proper ways of checking it then that method...so no...

i would replace belt if you havent done so. then run 1 battery at a time. 13.5 isnt that bad if parked and idling and alt gets heated. but in winter one would thinkg it wouldnt heat soak so fast. id test all your bats. 1 bad bat can start to bring the others down as well

Yeah I pulled my front battery I could instantly tell that one was bad, so I'm running only on my other battery. I'm just not sure if my battery is actually getting any charge. Yeah I show charging voltage but every morning I need to get a jump and every night after work.
