VW transporter 8 x lvl6 - HV Taramps (thanks sencheezy) - recones finally ordered!

Recommended Posts

OK, so i must be a glutton for punishment to be doing this... Not being satisfied with the output of the panelvan i have gone out and bought another car to build. I am hoping that I will be happy with this once finished. Even if I'm not too bad really as next up i will be restoring either another kingswood or an early girl commodore for the family to cruise around in. (That won't even be thought about for at least two years) Any way back to the car in question. It is a late 2004 VW transporter van with a turbo diesel engine. Unfortuntley for me the turbo is shagged so that will be an expensive fix but as the car still still drives around I will get to that once the bank balance recovers a bit.

I have also bought myself another 4 lvl6 woofers, these ones are 15 inch at the moment but i only bought them for the motors. I am unsure at this stage if I will rebuild all of them into 15s or build them into 18s. Either way they will have TI baskets with PSI recones. The only other point of concern is the alt as these run a gear driven setup so not sure what I will be doing with that, but I will work something out.

Initial plans are either a 4th or 6th order bandpass but again until the shell is built and i see exactly what I have to work with. As for the rest of the gear I am not sure what I will re-use other then batteries and amps. I am thinking about getting some neo pro audio mids to save weight in the doors but they can be costly so that is a bit up in the air.

Equipment list

H/U - Pioneer something or other

Processor - Audison bit1

Mids - Crescendo - although not sure on exact setup

Tweets - 8 x Crescendo FT-1 supertweets

Subs - 8 x DC Audio LVL6 M2 - either 15 or 18

Tailgate Speakers -2 x pairs Fusion powerplant splits

Mids and Highs amps - 2 x Mosconi AS200.4 and 2 x massive audio 4x120

Sub amps - 5 x DC audio 5.0k ( though would like to add more power later on)

Cable - Mix of SHOK and Sky high

Plus misc stuff like Dynamat and SMD voltmeter etc

SO some pics of the car

Got some more work done today, just the pods for the speakers, they are in resin drying at the moment so tomorrow the matting will go on. and while that is drying the mrs kids and i will rip the cargo area out ready for building soon.

i was going to flush mount but i didn't want the pods to stick out too far or look really bulky
