rambronco
Well parts have started showing up over the last few days for the build, wire, amps, deadener, still need HU & Alt. I was going to do a large ratio C-pillar 4th and after re-measuring found that i'd have to do B-pillar or build the box in the vehicle to get where I wanted, still may happen later but for now gonna build a basic ole ported box . And with that said my simple ole ported box is being more difficult than expected. It would not have been an issue if I was running subs up port back but I decided on port and subs back and with the combination of subs, power, and tuning im finding it difficult to come up with the real estate for it on the same plane and still keep my box at headrest height, also im going to be cutting it close on loading off the rear doors, think ill be ok but only have a couple inches to play with if there is an issue. Going to have to run a "T" port, the pic is of the layout, X for subs and the shading will be port, just hoping I can brace it well enough. Running 2 Sundown Z18v.4 D2's and an Opti 7001, it showed up today and it really is a beast. I have a picture of it with my Quart 1000.4 for reference granted, the quart wont do rated but its not a small amp, I have a planet audio BB2400.1 that's probably good for 2K RMS and was going to put it next to the Opti for reference but burned out with the box......some other time. 01 Chevy Silverado X-cab 2 Sundown Z18v4 walled on 2 Lanzar Opti 7k's strapped at 1/2ohm = each amp wired to 1/4ohm. Havent checked impedence rise so not sure what they are actually seeing. 6 group 31AGM's. 2-Eclipse 34230's each one running 2 Eminence 6.5" Beta 6A. These are beastly mids rated at 350w program power. I was skeptical but the eclipse amps are 370w x 2 and when there was 4 mids on 1 amp I could push it into thermal protect within a song so added the 2nd amp. Eclipse 4212 running 4 CT sounds Meso tweeters. and 2 DLS ultimate tweeters up high to raise the soundstage. 96' Ford F350 4wd 4d long bed 7.3 diesel with 91k miles. Will be the sound quality rig if I can ever find the time.
