So how did you connect the terminals to the wire?

I used a hammer crimper. I am too broke to buy anything else ATM.

Solder is cheap and theres a tutorial on here. At least wrap it in electrical tape or heatshrink it. Looks like a decent start.

Honestly man look at that wire does it look good to you?

Not something I'd use in my ride that's for sure.

I'd do a better job getting the wire into the amp too, you don't want bare wire hanging out like that.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

I said it's still messy amigo, I am going to re run the ground when I replace my box. And it's not at all in a final location, it's just getting plugged in so that I can have some bump on my way to work. It's about a thousand miles from being done. I have some black 0 gauge that I will run but I don't want to cut it now so that I may make it as short as possible when I do finally install my amp. I am working on a shoestring budget.

I have tried my hand a soldering and it's not for me. If you look at the last photo I did wrap all of my connections in electrical tape. That bit of unwrapped wire was just practice crimp.

I use to feel the same way about a hydraulic crimper, but that was before I knew what it was. Its not like a big ass shop press. I basically get the same result with a hammer crimper as I do with some pliers. The hydraulic crimper makes the terminal and wire become one.

Forgot to say I have installed my deck (dashboard) and liftgate speakers, just waiting on a hole saw to cut out the door speakers as my caravan is only the base model. It's super fun to drive and its in good shape for a 1991. I am getting the windows blacked out on friday :D Could anyone reccomend a good crimper that's not crazy expensive? I am waiting a few weeks to buy a door amp, I was thinking of getting a couple Barbra Ann's from Us Acoustics. Any ideas? I will eventually add another set of speakers in the cabin so I want to get a pair of four channel amps.
