That is the box I have, the 300 amp fuse is what came with the amp. I will throw in a 150 I have here. This system worked fine in my 96 ranger, it hurt my throat. Is the capacitor doing me any good at this point or should I get rid of it?

How do I set gains with a Digital Multi Meter, Mine Does Hz As Well, Its Pretty Advanced.

I live in everett, pa 15537. The farm country. No pawn shops in my town, bestbuy is 30 - 40 miles away and really my only option as I only have about $300 bucks atm.

Thanks,

Justin W

A lot of people have mixed feelings about caps. Personally id ditch it and do the big 3 and continue to upgrade you electrical system. But what do i know :unknw:

the stock ranger alt is very weak and fails quickly with a system, i went through two of them with just a shitty kenwood 600w 2 channel and two mtx 12's.

Also where is your main ground connected to? You need to upgrade your battery to body ground ASAP as rangers only come with a 10awg ground lead, the good news is you only need like 6'' of 1/0 for that ground.

Once you get your new subs squared away, pick yourself up a 135 amp explorer alt from a mid 1990's 4.0, since thats the next cheapest solution to a true HO alt, I've had an expo alt in mine for about 4 years and it does quite well for as cheap as they can be had for.

As for the rest of the system, turn off bass boost and get rid of that cap.

Also, those pioneers could only take 400w a piece, so even if your amp is grossly overrated, its still likely over the recommended power for those subs with clean power let alone a clipped signal. I'd recommend waiting and finding a sub that has a higher rms power rating.

Thanks in Advance,

I upgrades the rangers ground to 0 gauge. Fixed the LPF setting and set bass boost at 0%. I took out the cap and ran my 0 gauge straight into the amp. Its grounded on the seat bolt on the floor.

Would this be good for an alternator?

And Tax Money Should Be Here Soon, Thinking These for Subs

Will That Be Ok for Now?

Thanks,

Yea just pick up an oreily's alt, since if and when it dies or its DOA you can exchange for another. Should be fine until you go further with the system and get a HO alt from a good company like singer, DC, or mechman
