Triticum Agricolam Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 Looking at the specs and pictures I'm guessing its built out of 5/8" MDF instead of 3/4", its doesn't appear to have any internal bracing, and I bet it doesn't have as much port area as it should. So basically its like every other prefab, and should probably be avoided. One a side note, I think its funny they call it a "custom" box, what's "custom" about it? Nothing. Joe X Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 It's custom as it's the only prefab using a double layer 5/8" baffle.
Triticum Agricolam Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 It's custom as it's the only prefab using a double layer 5/8" baffle. Lol, yup, my bad. It should have been obvious! kyangs Posted February 28, 2015 Author Report Posted February 28, 2015 Thanks for the replys. I guess you guys will have to wait till my unboxing. I sure hope its not as you say. Here is what I found on Youtube. Link: It seems like its built pretty sturdy. Let me know your thoughts on the video.
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted February 28, 2015 Report Posted February 28, 2015 Ordered before you even asked, typical. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

audiofanaticz Posted February 28, 2015 Report Posted February 28, 2015 not impressed. wouldnt buy. this is custom and built to the woofers specs, vehicle limitations, power, etc... not that crap that (fits most 12inch woofers)... 1.25 inch baffles? thats cute this port is thicker than your baffle... ahh a 3 inch baffle almost 3 times the baffle as the custom box that fits most round 12 inch subs...
audiofanaticz Posted February 28, 2015 Report Posted February 28, 2015 This must be the box in question... http://www.mobilesoundworks.com/product_p/3_0-msw-112-round-box.htm Their carpet job is hideous. you can see every seam clear as day. Looks like they dont know how to carpet so they carpet a end panel and then staple it to the box afterwards which adds no strength to the box and a possibility to vibrate loose down the road. Ill take one of the boxes I built that I posted above any day. Hell Id take one of the boxes built by my old friend that also does boxes any day before these guys! LOL You can see the seam on the top partly in this photo, not even centered in the box either. But the nails or staples they used through the carpet to secure what looks like the side panel is way to noticeable. You can see the seam better in this one on the top of the box.
