2 18s tuned @30 & 2 15s tuned @50 would this work?

Recommended Posts

been reading on this and there's alot of people who are against this BUT if you had separate boxes and separate amplifiers why wouldn't this work? i personally have 2 sundown x18s and would like to use them for the lows and buy a pair of sundown sa15s or obsidian 15s tuned @45-50 for highs haven't decided if im actually gonna try this but im curious an would like to hear from some of you guys

also if you say don't do it explain why

Or do it. Maybe it works out, science is probably not in your favor. I'm sure one of the box guys here can clarify.

since both boxes would be in the same space (your car)

the sound waves would have cancellation issues

at high volume this would sound like a fat guys bathroom after eating 4 day old chipolte

you might not like to go with the crowd in life but in this case there is a reason nobody does it

you want some science well I dont really know much science but there is alot of speculation on the macaroni to cheese ratio and perfecting that challenge. Not only do you have to consider the temperature of the mixing bowl but you also have to hypothesis about properly heating the cheese to the same temperature as the macaroni. If you are adding bacon that is called a variable and requires further scientific research. Properly melting the cheese requires a certain amount of finesse so the milk in the cheese does not evaporate. If the cheese is perfect it should flow into the macaroni center.

if you want to peak frequencies so bad why not just design a sixth order. tune it to 30 and 60, boom dual peaks with no cancellation and no extra subs/extra box/extra amps. And there is more science and proof behind it.
