micker Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 A said speaker rated at 75rms running on 75rms Would it in theory be quieter then the same speaker BUT 2off running at 85rms paired due to cone area So 1 speaker on 75rms v's 2 same speakers on 85rms (42.5rms each) I have been given a 5ch amp that is 75@4 or 85@2 + 420@2 And I'm weighing up running 2 component sets in each front door and coaxel in rear or 1 comp in each door
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 It could or could not be, only one way to find out. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
micker Posted March 12, 2015 Author Report Posted March 12, 2015 Going from 1 to 2 is easy But once I go 2 sets in front door I'm stuck with it
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 You don't have to permanently install them to find out. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
micker Posted March 12, 2015 Author Report Posted March 12, 2015 thought about that But when I sat both set in the car on the seat and tried them with 1 on then both on they sounded crap compaired to in door Might have to make a box or something to test them better Just seems to look nicer when you see an 8" next to 2x 6.5"
SnowDrifter Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 2 speakers on 42.5 a piece would on paper be louder. It's more power overall and more cone area ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
rockFord_Expedition Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 more cone area and more powa = theoretically more louds Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
Skullz Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 I'd slam them with 200w per set, but that's me though. Fuck theory, i want FACT. lol Anytime you run multiples in the doors you take away any kind of quality you would have with a better set of speakers to start with, always buy the best you can afford as they're an investment in how good your music will sound. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
micker Posted March 13, 2015 Author Report Posted March 13, 2015 The speakers I will be using are kicker ds comps and and cvt8 slimline sub in door Only going cheap on the speakers because they don't last long when getting dirty wet and covered in mud there going in a truck that goes off road Normaly I would gladly spend more but for 2 set of comps and 2 8" cvt sub for under $200 at my door I can't complaint Was going to run them on a pioneer 2 ch and kicker zx200.2 But have been offered to swap my zx200 ,pioneer 2cg and a Chinese 500w 2ch amp for a zx700.5
