Alex Coyne
My last topic got locked because I had two different models in the opening post. Not mentioning any models this time. What would the forum recommend for a 2,000 to 2,500 watt amp in the $500 and under range ? (looking for quality product that will last). This will be for a daily driver (haven't decided on subs yet) so it will be rare when I dial the volume all the way to max

Alex Coyne
There's been a lot of Sq2200's selling like hot cakes on ebay for well under your budget. Just look around man. Yeah they sell brand new for $430 on there website (new revision is coming out in a couple of weeks). Its one of my top choices currently Crescendo, sundown, ampere etc. I do have a saz2500v2 I could sell you that's in your price range I would jump on that SAZ2500 but I'm pushing it with the electrical (I'll be running a 275A Singer alternator but the problem is im only running a single XS 3400 battery). XS said the battery is good for 2500 watt systems but the SAZ2500 is close to 3K clamped (plus i'll still be running about 200 in the front). http://store.crescendoaudio.com/bc2000d/ http://xplicitaudio.com/ampere-audio-aa-2000-1d/ the ampere is just a hair over, might could find it for a lower price somewhere What is consensus on Ampere amps in terms of board quality ? (Are they inbetween a soundqubed and sundown in terms of quality ?).

john253a
Your not make it easy on your self You say 2-2500@? 1,2,4,8ohm or somewhere inbetween Most of the amps listed above are @ 1 or 2 ohm So you really need to know 2 things first Will my elect system handle 2-2500rms If a soild yes then look at 1ohm If border line look at 2ohm If no do a biger box, more cone area or something to compensate a lower amp Second thing What config will my subs come in D1 only, d1 or d2, s1,2 or

Will be running big three wiring, singer 275A alternator (200A idle) and an XS D3400 (electircal will be more than fine). 1 ohm is what im shooting for. Looking at wiring 2 12 inch dual 1 ohm subs to 1 ohm final (currently eyeballing the AA havoc 12s)
