Jordan Thurston
Well I blew one of my sundown audio e12s so I ended up ordering a soundqubed hds312 I want to do 2 of them but thinking about maybe just doing one with a nice box. I want loud I know 2 will be louder then 1 but i think a good box will make one sound pretty good just looking for some input before I decide to buy another soundqubed 12. BoomZoom808
How did you blow the first sub? I think you should address that issue before blowing another sub? 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON

Triticum Agricolam
So what exactly is your question? Moving from one sub to two on the same power will gain your roughly 3 db. Joe X
OP if you have space and $$$ for two just get the other one, if by any chance you don't think one is enough after all, you will need to build another box. Also if you got a D4 you will need to run it at 2 ohm.
Jordan Thurston
The sundown sub blew because i was putting 1000 watts to the sub it lasted a few months I was surprised and I have 2 amps and was running subs at 1 ohms each. So each sub was getting 800 to a 1000 watts the Amps are just cheap hironics amps but they seem to do just fine and I got a hell of deal on them so couldn't really pass them up guy I got them from clamp the amps and said there around 1300 but seems a little high to me. Anyways I ordered one of the soundqubed hds312s I will probably end up getting another this week. I do have a ported box for 2 12s that I made a while back did pretty good with the sundown subs it's around 4.5 cubes tuned to 36 hz not sure how it will sound with the soundqubed subs but I will give it a try. Joe X
If the box has enough port area will probably do well, other than that you may want to learn how to gain match more so if the box is common chamber,

I just meant that if your gains are set incorrectly you will blow subs faster than just about anything. 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. Jordan Thurston
Both gains were about half way just subs couldn't handle the extra power. I will have to measure the port and see how much port area there is I want to fire the subs into the car so I'm thinking I might build a new box anyways when I get both the subs.
