what travels farther sealed or ported?

Recommended Posts

Sound is sound. The same frequency tone played at the same SPL level is going to behave the same regardless of type of box it came from.

Things like line arrays can make sound be more directional, but that's a different topic.

It really depends on if either box type has a passport for crossing international borders.

Serious answer-

Sound is sound. It travels the same distance despite it's point of origin.

I'm not sure you know what you're asking?

...you should google-

sound pressure level

frequency

throw distance (pro audio application)

its a mute point in a car. it will travel to the windshield most of the time unless it reflects off something in the car. You're not worried about throw distance you're worried about pressure level. (bass application)

Enlighten me which makes the sound travel further coming from a trunk?

Yous needs one of thems super kewl band pass boxes! It will make more boom boom tick tick boom dumb ass horse shit come out of your car and travel farther. All of those young trashy ass whore who hang out with retarded teenagers will be sopping wet to jump on your peen!

Worry more about the sound outside of your car than the sound inside, Make racket, be a jerk off, piss people off, feel accomplished.
