I got the alts working (same ones that were in there) LOL the engine really boggs when the bass hits (the whole car slows down cause the alternators are trying to keep up). Also without the idle set above 2000rpm the car will just stall or the belt starts slipping like mad, so it would be pretty annoying for a daily driver... Anyway now the only problem is one sub ripped out of box cause the screws pulled out of the wood, so I gotta bolt it in or something. The threaded rod works really well on the back windows, but now the other half is coming loose cause their only bolted into plastic which the threads got torn out. I think I forgot to mention this box is tuned to 31 hz... maybe some vids soon. hahaha nice! Id like to see a vid of that! as for the subs ripping out, did you consider T-nuts? they work really well if you dont want to screw into the wood. Id like to see a vid of that! as for the subs ripping out, did you consider T-nuts? they work really well if you dont want to screw into the wood.Hmmmm I just looked those up, seem like a real good idea. I'm gonna try to used longer screws first but if that doesnt work I'll give these a go. Thanks
fourlug Posted April 19, 2008 Author Report Posted April 19, 2008 lol @ 3 alts in a civic hatch....thats sum custom shit right there. and x2 thats a big ass box in that car. id wall it off and put 4 15's in that bish.I've been thinking, I wanna run these amps at 2 ohms instead of 1.. so in the next couple months I'm thinking I'll wall off 4 15's Longer screws worked btw, here are some more random pictures.. One alt was actually fried, so here is how I replaced it for those who were wondering, also took the best pics I could of the bracket. Here is the different alt Headlight before it comes out View through the removed light You can see the metal I cut away to allow everything to fit I kept the mounting points in tact for the headlight Ratchet wrench = life saver Pulling the fried alt out of the bay Here are some close ups of the mounts, dont mind the welds lol Working alt going in Put the light and belt on and your good to go!
